We’ve had our dog Jack, a large poodle/terrier combo, for five years, since he was 10 months old and we adopted him from the county humane society. He’s always been a very loving and protective dog, good with kids, but aggressive toward just about everyone else, even regular visitors. On hiking trails, he was becoming completely out of control, despite our use of harnesses, halters, treats, and just about everything else. We turned to Grumpy Puppy Training and Jack changed after just the free consultation, so much so that even other people noticed a difference right away! We loved our private lessons, but the real joy for us is the group class where Jack is learning what we expect, we are learning how to teach him, and the best part: Jack is doing what we ask! It’s like having a different dog, one who loves us enough to do what we ask of him. No more pulling on the leash when we walk, no more lunging at other dogs (usually), and no more frightening people who come to our house. Also, not only is Tony always there as a resource, but we all work together in group class and help each other. We are very grateful to Tony and Tiffany and all our Grumpy Puppy friends, and we encourage every dog owner we know to enroll right away and have the dog you’ve always wanted.
Sincerely, Joe and Tammy Rauschenbach (Flagstaff, AZ)

Chance is our 1 year old Labrador/Australian Shepherd mix who we had trouble with in social situations due to his nervous aggression. He was a very sweet boy towards every person he knew, but strangers (in public and in our house) posed a very difficult struggle for us. Unfortunately kids were the worst.

Tony came to our house the first day of training and within 20 minutes had taken our aggressive dog for a walk and played ball with him in our house. Though Chance was pretty good at sits, downs and stays before training, he will now stay in one spot until told to move. This could be for an entire hour, and no stay command is necessary. We are also to the point with Chance that we can invite people in to our home, take him to public places, and have him around kids while maintaining a high level of control. We will probably continue to work with kids for a while longer to get him even more comfortable with them (maybe even like them). For now though, we are so thankful that he no longer acts aggressive towards them. Grumpy Puppy Training helped us teach Chance acceptable behaviors, and taught us how to not reinforce unacceptable ones. This has lead to a great transformation.

We owe Tony and his family a huge thank you! We appreciate them opening up their home to us and letting Chance learn new behaviors with the help of his dogs and kids. We love the change we have seen in Chance and are now using the same techniques with our other dog Pepper. All of the other people in our lives have also noticed the positive changes in both dogs and are very impressed. Thank you Grumpy Puppy!

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You I Love my dog but he was a CRAZY PUPPY who was driving me and my wife INSANE!

little do they know that YOU are my secret weapon! Thanks a million Tony... you should charge 10x's what you charged us... Thanks for restoring order to our home and giving us the best dog anyone could ever hope for!

We hired Tony originally for our German Shepherd, Kai, who was becoming increasingly aggressive towards men and children. We didn't realize that he would also be a miracle worker for our pushy Irish Wolfhound mix puppy, Nash, who really did not benefit or respond to any other training that was offered in Flagstaff. Tony was able to give us control over both of our dogs and now we can completely trust them off leash now when we're on a walk or run. Nash is so well behaved thanks to Tony's training that we are now training him to be a therapy dog. We are still working with our German Shepherd and his aggression towards people but Tony has been with us every step of the way. He continually comes up with new situations to help Kai understand that people are a good thing. We trust him completely and we know he will always be there for us if we encounter any new problems with Kai or Nash. Thanks Grumpy Puppy Training!
