WHY RESIDENT'S BRING THEIR DOGS TO US ?

Although there are a few people who are proactive and bring their dogs to us before problems arise, most are so frustrated, that we are the last stop before they re-home their dog, give it up to a shelter, or euthanize it. Many of these people have already tried a number of things on their own. They’ve followed the advice they were given, taken classes from other Flagstaff dog trainers, and found that nothing worked. They come to us because their dogs:

 Jump up on people.

 Won’t come when they’re called.

 Pull so hard on their leashes that they cause injury or make walks a chore.

 Chew household items, urinate, or defecate when they’re left alone.

 Bark incessantly.

 Get too excited around other dogs or people and can’t be controlled.

 Are possessive of their food or toys, or of their owner.

 Are aggressive toward humans, having bitten household members or visitors.

 Are aggressive toward other dogs.

 Bolt out the door whenever it is opened, endangering their safety.

 Are shy or fearful of men, strangers, or children.
